Does the Statute of Limitiations differ for child injury cases?

A: There are strict time limits on when a person may bring a legal arising from an injury accident. This is no difference for claims brought by children. However, the general rule in Washington State is that a child has 3 years from the date of the child's 18th birthday to bring a claim. This effectively means that the child can wait until his or her 21st birthday to settle the claim or file a lawsuit. However, it is usually not a good idea to wait this long to resolve the claim, especially if the claim involves injuries to a younger child.
