$585,000 Settlement for death of 72 year-old man

72 year-old man was killed while a passenger in a car crash during snow storm on Interstate 90 east of Cle Elum. He left surviving adult children.  Suit alleged negligence against the other driver and against the State of Washington for failing to properly sand the roadway. Last offer before lawsuit filed was $100,000.

Awarded: $585,000
