Across the nation, many companies are working to teach young drivers about the risks of texting while driving. An organization, Generation tXt, a youth based group in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is using peer to peer education to get their message ‘texting while driving isn’t cool’ out.
The youth group teamed up with State Farm insurance and they are focusing on educating 8th and 9th grade students about driving safely and responsibly. They are working to prevent bad driving habits before they even start.
The most unique aspect of this educational program: how the message is being presented. They are using hip-hop music video with lyrics about potential consequences of texting and phone use while behind the wheel.
They are also directing their campaign directly to schools, driver’s education courses, and community and faith-based centers in the area.
The following video, is an example of their music video campaign.
Davis Law Group is excited to follow this campaign, in hopes that it makes our roadways safer!
