Young Woman Critically Injured on I-5 Ramp

A 24-year-old female student was critically injured when she lost control of her car while driving on the Mercer Street ramp to Interstate-5 early Wednesday morning around 2:00am. When firefighters arrived on the scene they had to pull her unconscious body from the wreckage. She was rushed to Harborview Medical Center with a collapsed lung, shattered pelvis, and other serious injuries. Seattle Police don't believe alcohol was a factor in the crash but the driver could have been speeding when she lost control of her car. The Mercer Street ramp was closed for two hours during for investigation.
