Young Boy Dies in Boating Accident, Two Boats Collided

It is undecided whether investigators will file a lawsuit regarding a boating accident that killed a 14-year-old boy.

"The incident is under investigation and anything regarding charges is likely weeks away as our critical incident response team re-creates the incident and analyzes data, conducts interviews, etc.," said Department of Natural Resources spokeswoman Melissa Cummings.

The boy was pulled from the lake in the middle of the afternoon.

According to officials, two boats were carrying 15 people total, and they collided at about 7 p.m.

A 13-year-old girl was also injured and transported to a hospital in a helicopter and a 57-year-old man who was hospitalized with a jaw injury.
