Yamaha Recalls Motorcycle Due to Issue With Ground Joint Connector

Yamaha has recalled nearly 9,900 motorcycles, according to a report filed with the NHTSA.

The auto defect problem covers the 2006-9 FJR1300 Supersport touring motorcycles. In the report, it did not mention if any accidents have been caused by the auto defect issue.

“The ground joint connector of the wire harness could overheat and become deformed, possibly causing an intermittent ground wire connection,” the manufacturer said in a report. The condition could cause the engine to stall."

Other Auto Recalls worth noting:

•  Ducati is recalling nearly 1,000 of its 2011 Diavel models because the rear license plate holder has the potential of coming lose, which could create a hazard on the roadways if the plate or frame were to hit another vehicle or cause a car accident from roadway debris.

• BMW is recalling 50 of its 2011 X3 SUV’s because of a possible loss of power assist to the steering. The automaker told NHTSA they noticed the issue while assembling the vehicle.
