Yakima Crash May Have Involved Street Racing

Two men were taken to Harborview Medical Center Sunday after the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed on 72nd Avenue in Yakima. According to Police, 17-year-old Brandon Henley was racing another motorist when he lost control of the vehicle at the intersection with Tieton Drive, causing it to crash into a fence, power pole and parked car before a final crash into a tree.
Henley and his passenger, identified as 33-year-old Eliseo Bahema, were both seriously injured in the accident and transported to Harborview. Henley was listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit and Bahema was in serious condition. Police believe that, in addition to the high speeds of street racing, drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
