A 78-year-old woman was hospitalized on Sunday morning after driving the wrong way on Interstate 5 in Tumwater.
The woman entered the highway on Trosper Road and hit a pickup truck that was traveling in the far right lane. She was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital. The other driver, a 22-year-old girl, was treated at the scene.
The wrong way driver will be charged with negligent driving.
The two right lanes of southbound Interstate 5 were blocked for two hours and both cars were totaled.
