Wrong-way Driver Causes 5-car Pileup on I-405
On Saturday morning three people were hurt a five-car crash that was caused when a young woman drove the wrong way on Interstate 405 in Bothell. The young woman, 17-years-old, was driving a 1996 Toyota Corolla southbound in the northbound HOV lane around 12:30 a.m. near Northeast 195th Street when she hit a 1995 BMW, according to the Washington State Patrol. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital for unspecified injuries.
It is unclear whether the young woman was intoxicated, as is often the case when collisions are caused by drivers traveling the wrong way on a highway late at night.
