Wrongful Death - Motorcyclist Dies on I-5 Sunday

SEATTLE - A motorcyclist died on Interstate 5 in Seattle early Sunday morning after he lost control of his bike and struck a barrier.  Witnesses stated that the man was driving erratically before he hit a left side barrier near Mercer Street in downtown Seattle.  It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident.

Motorcycle accidents appear to be on the rise in Washington state.  Perhaps due to the increase in number of riders trying to take advantage of the good gas mileage and rising fuel costs?  Who knows.  Motorcycle operators need to be extremely careful and presume that most other vehicle drivers don't see them or have difficulty seeing them.  Motorcyclist need to take extra precautions that drivers of cars and trucks don't take.  Seriously, this is necessary if you want to reduce the chances of a motorcycle accident because if one occurs, there is a much higher likelihood that the accident will produce catastrophic injuries or even death.
