A woman sustained life-threatening injuries in an accident around seven Wednesday night in the Mt. Baker area of south Seattle.

She was taken to Harborview Medical Center for her injuries.

The woman was hit Wednesday when a man in a Toyota Carolla who was going north on Rainier drove up on the sidewalk and hit her on South Andover Street.

The man continued to drive off after he struck the woman. Police later caught him at 20th Avenue South and South Jackson Street.

The driver of the car showed signs of intoxication and was also taken to Harborview where he had a blood test for investigation of DUI.

The accident happened at the same location where a woman was killed the night before when she was hit by a truck.
