Woman Killed by Train near Lakewood | Bellvue Accident Attorney

A Tacoma woman was killed in a fatal Amtrak train accident in Steilacoom Monday night.

The woman was identified by the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office as Ju Young Park.

According to witnesses, the accident took place when a few women were near the double mainline tracks in Steilacoom near Sunnyside Beach.

A northbound train had just cleared the northbound tracks when a second train headed southbound from Seattle to Eugene struck Ju Young Park.

According to the state Utilities and Transportation Commission, this was the second deadly train accident in Washington state since January. The Federal Railroad Administration said in 2009 there were a total of 17 people killed on train tracks in Washington State alone.
