A woman was injured in a car crash on Interstate 82 near Prosser on Sunday around 8 p.m.
Kara Sears, a Kennewick resident was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.
According to Washington State Patrol, Sears was driving her 1993 Subaru Impreza west on I-82, about six miles east of Prosser when she ran her car off the side of the road and down a steep embankment causing it to roll and land upside down.
State Troopers cited inattention as the cause of this crash.
According to a government study, in the United States, 80 percent of car accidents involve distracted drivers. Reaching for a moving object while you are driving increased your chances of crashing by nine times. Other activities including reading, putting on makeup, and dialing a cell phone, all of which increased your chances of crashing by three times.
If you received injuries because of someone else's negligence you should speak with an experienced Seattle attorney who will look at the facts of your case and determine if there is any compensation that may be owed to you.
