A 75-year-old woman from Sequim was in fair condition Monday at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton after a three-car crash Sunday evening on the Hood Canal Bridge.
One driver involved in the collision was charged with vehicular assault.
The bridge was closed in both directions for about two hours.
According to Washington State Patrol, Daniel M. DeMay, 27, of Port Hadlock, was driving a Saturn SL eastbound on the bridge when he was hit in the rear by Timothy V. Brewer's Ford F-150 truck. Brewer, of Renton, forced DeMay over the center line and into a westbound Volvo driven by Joan McCready, 75, of Sequim.
McCready was taken to Harrison Medical Center with a broken ankle and head trauma.
Brewer was treated for minor injuries at Harrison then released and booked into Jefferson County Jail on a vehicular assault charge..
DeMay was also treated and released at Jefferson General Hospital.
All three drivers were wearing seat belts.
