A Normandy Park women is thankful to be alive after she walked away after a tire that fell off a truck smashed into her windshield near the Duwamish River Curve Wednesday morning. The accident took place around 9 a.m. when the while the woman was traveling on Interstate 5.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the was traveling northbound in her Honda Accord when the truck which was headed southbound lost its left front tire. The tire went flew across the median and hit the Honda's windshield on the driver's side.
Fortunately, the driver reacted as calmly as possible. When the tire hit her Windshield she was able to pull to the right shoulder. She suffered only minor injuries from the shattered glass but was clearly rattled from the accident.
State Troopers were still trying to determine why the tire came off in hopes of preventing it in the future.
