Woman Dies in Head-On Collision on Yelm Highway

An 83-year-old woman from Olympia was killed in a car accident in the afternoon of June 20, 2011 on Yelm Highway.

The woman driving a 1989 Mercedes-Benz collided with a 29-year-old man driving a 1993 Chevrolet pick-up, made a left turn on the highway. The man turned into the westbound lane where there was on-coming traffic. The woman was hit head on.

Both drivers were immediately brought to Providence St. Peters Hospital. The woman mercedes benz accidentwas declared dead at the hospital.

The collision is under investigation. It is unidentified whether alcohol and/or drugs were involved in this fatal car accident.
