Woman Dies in 2-Car Collision on Highway 522

DESCRIPTION: A 20-year-old woman was driving with her 2-year-old son eastbound on Highway 522 when she drifted over the centerline and struck a car that was traveling westbound. She died at the scene and her son sustained serious injuries and had to be airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The other driver, a 50-year-old male was initially taken to Valley General Hospital for serious leg injuries but also had to be transported to Harborview Medical Center. Both survivors are in serious condition. State Patrol is still investigating the cause of the collision, but they know that the woman was not wearing a seatbelt.
