A woman and a toddler were injured in West Seattle on Wednesday afternoon after they were struck by another vehicle in the Admiral District.

While crossing the intersection of California Ave SW and Lander St, a 25-year-old woman and a 2-year-old child were struck by a yellow smart car.

The woman, who was the child's nanny, suffered a broken foot. The toddler suffered injuries to the face and head. Both were taken to Harborview Medical Center and are in stable condition. The driver of the smart car was not injured, and the vehicle showed no signs of damage.

Authorities are still looking into what may have caused the crash but due to the circumstances of the accident, it is believed that the smart car driver was not paying attention to their surroundings when they decided to turn.
