Generally, the damages are divided into two categories: economic and non-economic. Economic damages usually refer to those damages that are easier to calculate, like lost earnings, medical expenses, and other forms of compensatory damages. Non-economic damages usually refer to the subjective losses, like pain, suffering, grief, mental anguish, and the loss of the relationship with the deceased.
