Motorcycle Accident Statute of Limitations
In cases of wrongful death the family and friends of the victim need to be aware that the "Statute of Limitations" (SOL) is a law that sets a strict time limit on when a legal claim or action may be commenced. After the SOL has expired the legal action (lawsuit) is forever barred. In Washington State the SOL for many types of personal injury cases including
motorcycle accidents and
wrongful death is three (3) years from the date of the accident. However there are exceptions to this time limit depending upon the facts involved.
Motorcycle Accident / Wrongful Death Attorney
In many cases the experienced
motorcycle accident lawyer or
wrongful death attorney who is hired early in the claims process can help avoid mistakes that may harm the claim. The family would be well advised to seek the help of a qualified attorney as soon as possible.
