While driving on Kersey Way Southeast around 12:20am, a vehicle carrying two people left the roadway and struck a tree.

Both driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victims was not released and Auburn Police Department has not reported the cause of the accident and if it was weather-related.

Kersey Way Southeast between 53rd Street Southeast and Oravetz Road Southeast was closed until 6 AM.
