Two women died in a car crash early Sunday morning in Bremerton.

Both women were declared dead at the scene but the driver of the car was transported to Harborview Medical Center.

According to Kitsap County Sherriff investigators, a 2004 Dodge Stratus was driving south on National Avenue around 12:50 a.m. in the Navy Yard City Area in Bremerton when it left the roadway near McCall Boulevard.  The Stratus then became airborne, plunged into a ravine and crashed into a dirt embankment.

Sherriff’s deputies are still trying to determine the speed of the vehicle at the time of the accident.  It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in this crash.
