Two people were injured in a motorcycle accident near Silverdale on Saturday evening.

Around 7 p.m. a 21-year-old man was heading northbound State Route 303 near Highway 3 when he lost control of his motorcycle and his a jersey barrier. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition. His 22-year-old female passenger was treated at Harrison Medical Center and later released.

Washington State Patrol is investigating the accident.

• Forty-five percent of deaths in single-vehicle motorcycle crashes in 1998 included drivers with blood alcohol concentration at or above 0.10%.
• Nine out of 10 motorcycle deaths in 1998 were males. Seventy-seven percent of the females who died in a motorcycle crash were passengers and 98% of males who died were drivers.
