Two people were injured in a car accident near Ferndale on Tuesday afternoon.

Edward W. Hess, 57, was driving east on Grandview Road in Ferndale when he crossed the center line and struck a westbound vehicle.

The other driver, 45-year-old Lea D. Morris, was injured. Both Hess and Morris were taken to St. Joseph Hospital. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and their cars were totaled.

Washington State Patrol does not suspect drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash but Hess will be charged with a driving infraction for crossing the center line.
