Two hurt in serious car accident in North Seattle

Two people were badly hurt after a one-car accident late Wednesday.
The crash happened just before 11 p.m. on Northeast 130th Street and Fifth Avenue Northeast, Seattle police spokeswoman Renee Witt said.

The vehicle was traveling eastbound on 130th when it left the roadway and struck a tree. Seattle firefighters had to free the passenger, who was trapped in the wreckage.

Both driver and passenger were taken to Harborview Medical Center, Witt said. Investigators believe the driver may have been impaired at the time of the crash, she said.
