Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Local police are investigating the contributing factors to two unrelated fatal motorcycle crashes in the Seattle area on Independence Day.

In one incident, police are investigating the details of a fatal motorcycle accident in Everett that killed a 26-year-old man Wednesday evening. According to the Everett Police Department, the Edmonds man was driving his motorcycle on SR 526 west of Airport Road in Everett when he exited the roadway and crashed. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.

Another motorcycle crash in Tacoma fatally injured a 31-year-old man Wednesday. The Washington State Patrol reports that the driver, 31-year-old Eric Markle of Tacoma, was traveling at a very high rate of speed when he crashed into a minivan. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and passengers in the minivan were taken to a nearby hospital for precautionary reasons.
