On Sunday, May 30th, a driver of a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo totaled her vehicle after striking a telephone pole along U.S. Highway 101 two miles south of Brinnon.
The driver was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after the crash. The passenger in the vehicle was also airlifted to Harborview.

The driver, 36-year-old Cassandra L. Kiesz of Des Moines, Washington, is possibly facing charges of vehicular assault and DUI pending. The Washington State Patrol forwarded the case to the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney's office.

Kiesz's vehicle was traveling southbounf on Highway 101 when it entered a left-hand corner at milepost 308 and left the roadway to the right. The vehicle traveled down a ditch at least 100 yards before crashing into the telephone pole.

Kiesz suffered internal bleeding, head trauma and lacerations from the crash. One of the passengers in her vehicle, Diane Henry, 55, of Brinnon, was also injured but the extent of her injuries is still unknown to the public. Neither of the women were wearing a seatbelt during the time of the crash.

The second passenger in the vehicle, Meagan Dockter, 36, of Seattle, was wearing a seatbelt during the crash was remained uninjured.
