A woman was seriously injured and taken to a Seattle-area hospital Friday morning after her vehicle was struck by a semi truck on southbound Interstate 5 near Tumwater.
According to Trooper Guy Gill of the Washington State Patrol, the 43-year-old woman’s vehicle was stopped in the far right lane of I-5 at approximately 6 a.m. Friday without lights on. A semi tractor trailer was driving in the same lane and crashed into the rear-end of the vehicle, seriously damaging the car and injuring the woman.
As you can see, the vehicle was totaled in the crash due to the large impact of the semi truck accident. Gill says there is no indication as to why the woman had pulled over the vehicle in a traffic lane of the highway, and the car accident remains under investigation. The woman was airlifted to nearby Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, and Gill says her current condition is unknown.
