Just before midnight on Friday, a 16-year-old girl and her toddler sister were struck by an SUV in a crosswalk in Kirkland.
According to a Kirkland Police officer, the two girls were walking in a marked crosswalk in the 12600 block of 100 Avenue Northeast in Kirkland when they were hit.
Traffic in the first lane had come to a stop, but as the girls continued across the crosswalk a vehicle struck them both.
Both girls were rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with possible fractures and a head injury.
Video from a news chopper showed the SUV with a cracked windshield, and a stroller crushed on the roadside.
