Three people were hospitalized after being involved in a motor vehicle collision Highway 290 in Newman Lake on Monday afternoon. The collision was caused by a 70-year-old woman heading eastbound who failed to stop for oncoming traffic before she turned left onto Starr Road, causing an SUV to hit her head-on. The driver of the SUV, a 47-year-old man and his 52-year-old passenger were both hospitalized. The woman driver was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment and will be cited for failing to yield according to Washington State Patrol.
