Three people were injured in a collision near Yakima on Friday afternoon.A van carrying four people rear-ended a tanker semi on Interstate 82.
Aleksandr Deshkin, 43, was following too closely and struck the semi because he wasn't paying attention.
Deshkin's three passengers, 43-year-old Olga Deshkin, 17-year-old Irina Deshkin, and 19-year-old Liya Abramov were all injured and taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Neither of the drivers involved were injured.
Washington State Patrol has attributed inattention and following too closely as the cause of the collision.
