Three people were injured in a possible DUI-related crash early Wednesday morning. The accident happened around 2 a.m. on Signal Peak Road about one mile from White Swan. A 22-year-old male from Wapato was driving a 1992 Pontiac Sunfire with two other passengers in the car, a 31-year-old male from White Swan and a 26-year-old female from Toppenish, when he lost control and drove into a culvert. The car was completely totalled.
Washington State Patrol investigated the accident and intoxicants are being implicated as the cause of the crash. All three victims were hospitalized, taken either to Toppenish Community Hospital or a Yakima area hospital. WSP also reported that none of them were wearing a seat belt. The accident is still under investigation.
