Type: Fatal Auto Accident

Outcome: One dead, one with minor injury
A man died in a three car accident on I-5 Wednesday morning, just north of the SeaTac Airport exit.
The accident took place when a white Ford Crown Victoria taxi and a black Toyota Land Cruiser collided near the exit of Highway 528 and Southcenter Parkway. After the collision, the Land Cruiser rolled onto the main lanes of I-5 landing upside down where it was hit by a black Toyota Camry.
The driver of the Land Cruiser was declared dead on the scene. The driver of the Camry was treated for injuries on site and the driver of the taxi was uninjured.
Five of the six southbound lanes of I-5 were closed for almost three hours.
According to the Fatality Analysis Reporting System Encyclopedia, in 2008, there were 521 fatalities in Washington State. In the United States, there were 37,261 fatal crashes.
