An 18-year-old man from East Bremerton was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after he crashed his motorcycle along
Clover Blossom Lane NE on Saturday evening. A witness told police that it looked like he was driving the 25 mph speed limit when he crashed.

Motorcycle Accident StatisticsThe failure of motorists to detect and recognize motorcycles in traffic is the predominating cause of motorcycle accidents. The driver of the other vehicle involved in collision with the motorcycle did not see the motorcycle before the collision, or did not see the motorcycle until too late to avoid the collision. Nine out of ten motorcycle deaths in 1998 were males. Seventy-seven percent of the females who died in a motorcycle crash were passengers and 98% of males who died were drivers.
