Two people were injured New Year's Eve when their car crashed into a tree. Apparently their car was headed south on Rainier Avenue South when it crashed into a tree near 42nd Avenue South not far from the Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
The driver was a 16-year-old who has suffered life-threatening head injuries. The passenger was 23-year-old and suffered a broken arm.
The victims' identities have not been released.
Officials say alcohol and a fight inside the car contributed to the crash.
