SEATTLE - A man who was thrown from his Ford Explorer then pinned under it was saved by passers-by and a state policeman. He was a passenger involved in a car accident that was caused by a teenage driver. Apparently an 18-year-old Auburn girl was driving under the influence of alcohol and caused the crash. The injured included a 14-year-old SeaTac girl, who broke her arm and an 18-year-old Kent man had cuts and neck and back injuries. Another boy had cuts and scrapes and a boy suffered neck and back injuries. At the scene, officials found open containers of alcohol inside and outside the SUV.
Four people riding in the SUV were ejected from the vehicle. The SUV then rolled onto one of the ejected passengers. At least six passers-by stopped to help by lifting the SUV off the man who was pinned. The woman driver said the people who stopped to help saved the man's life. Another passenger was ejected into nearby bushes. Police had to use a search dog to find this man as he was unconscious when they found him.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested and booked for DUI and vehicle assault.
