Location: Joann Fabrics, North 152nd Street and Aurora Avenue North, Shoreline, WA
Outcome: One injured
A Ford Expedition drove 20 feet into a Joann Fabric store in Shoreline striking a woman who was shopping inside the store. Apparentlyy she was pinned by the car until rescuers could reach her. She was taken to Northwest Hospital with what appeared to be very minor injuries bumps and bruises.
At this point police believe that the driver of the SUV got confused and stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake as she was trying to park at the store. The vehicle went 20 feet into the store, shattering the glass window, scattering fabric, Mother's Day flowers and cards. The checkout counter was also crushed.
According to police it was the third vehicle to crash into a commercial building in the past 36 hours in the Seattle area.
- A car smashed into a store on University Way on Friday after smashing into two parked cars at 45th Avenue and University Way In that incident it is believed that thedriver was having a seizure.
- A Chevy Suburban drove through a window and into a Marysville restaurant on Thursday. The driver of that vehicle was arrested for investigation of driving drunk.
