The semi truck driver that caused a six-car crash yesterday on I-405, has apparently experienced troubles in the past. The semi truck lost control on a ramp and slammed into guard rails and light poles. The collision caused the large truck to fall to its side and
spread debris all over the roadway causing other six other vehicles to crash.
The semi truck driven by Anthony Saputski, was charged with driving a commercial truck with alcohol in his system. Later, Saputski pleaded guilty and his violation was reduced to negligent driving. The 30-year-old driver’s background shows more than 10 driving violations in Idaho. These tickets include three speeding tickets and a DUI from 2001.
It was suspected that Saputski may have been drunk when police came to the scene of the crash early yesterday morning. Although he passed a breathalyzer test, troopers say that found substantial evidence to pursue investigation for DUI. Trooper Julie Startup said that the parties involved in the
delivery truck collision were very lucky to not have experience further injuries.
