RENTON, Wash. -- A student at Hazen High School was struck by a car while crossing a street near the school Monday Afternoon. School district spokesman Randy Matheson said one car had stopped for the student, who was in a crosswalk, but a car in another lane struck the boy as he was crossing at the intersection of Duvall Avenue Northeast and Sunset Boulevard. School had just let out when the boy, who is a senior at Hazen, was hit about 3 p.m. Matheson said the student suffered head and back injuries, but police said the boy's injuries were not life-threatening.Renton police are investigating the collision.
