Speeding Accident Near Point Defiance Kills One, Injures Two

One person was killed and two people were critically injured in a serious car accident that occured near Point Defiance just before midnight on Monday night. According to a report, the crash happened at 46th street and Vasault street when the three men were speeding up the hill. In fact, the car was going so fast that an eye witness said that the car sounded like a "speeding jet" traveling up the street. When the car reached the top of the hill, it was launched into the air and hit a parked truck and landed in a front yard near where the truck had been parked.

All three men were thrown from the car, killing one and critically injuring the other two. The accident is said to have occured late on the evening of the May 24, however there have been conflicting reports as to when the accident took place. Most recently, the accident is said to have taken place at around 10:15 pm.

Speeding has been a problem in the neighborhood for quite some time with local residents requesting additional police patrol or subtle changes to the street, such as a roundabout. Authorities added that while speed was certainly a factor in the crash, police have not yet determined whether or not alcohol was also a contributing factor.
