One woman died and three other people were seriously injured after the car they were in swerved off the road and struck a tree in Shelton Tuesday morning. According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened just after midnight when the Mercedes exited the road to the right and crashed into a tree, killing a woman passenger immediately.
Three other men were present in the car at the time, one was taken to Harborview Medical Center and the other two were also injured and taken to Mason General Hospital in Shelton. Deputies on the scene did not indicate whether or not alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash, but reports indicate that a State Patrol drug recognition expert was called to the scene.
