A woman was involved in a serious Washingon car accident Saturday evening.

Jennifer Imhof, the woman injured in the crash, a Sumner resident, was taken to the trauma center at Madigan Army Medical Center with serious injuries.

The accident took place in Buckley when Imhof was driving a sedan northbound on State Route 165 when she left the road at the 13300 block and crashed headlong into a tree.

Firefighters arrived at the scene of the accident shortly after 9:23 p.m.

Imhof was the only person in the Sedan and was extricated from her car using hydraulic cutters.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by Washington State Patrol.
