The wife and daughter of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid received car accident injuries in a crash in Virginia Thursday evening.

They were both taken to Inova Faifax Hospital in Falls Church, VA where Mrs. Reid was listed as in serious condition with a broken nose, neck and back.

Their daughter, Lana Barringer suffered from a neck injury and facial lacerations. She was expected to have been released from the hospital Thursday night.

According to the Virginia State Police, the car accident took place when they Reids were travelling north on I-95 in their Honda Odyssey was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer truck.

The accident caused the Reid's to hit the car in front of them which hit the car in the adjacent lane. The other two drivers suffered from non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was charged with reckless driving and was uninjured.

We hope Mrs. Reid is able to make a quick recovery from her accident injuries.
