Yesterday evening, just after 9 p.m. in Federal Way, a semi truck delivering mail smashed into several construction trucks that were parked along the shoulder of southbound lanes of I-5. The truck that was hit was putting out lane barrels for a road project at SR-18.
The impact of the first hit caused the truck to hit two other construction vehicles. The semi finally stopped on the on-ramp from SR-18.
The damaged vehicles were leaking diesel fuel. The Department of Ecology came to the scene to help cleanup.
It is still undetermined why the semi truck crashed into the construction vehicles in the first place.
