A motorcycle accident injury near I-5 sent one man to the hospital Saturday morning.
The motorcyclist was taken to Harborview Medical Center for his injuries.
According to Washington State Patrol, the motorcyclist was merging from Michigan Street onto northbound I-5 around 11 in the morning Saturday when he hit the concrete barrier. He was thrown over the guardrail and landed in the HOV lane of southbound I-5.
He was wearing a helmet when he crashed.
Drugs and alcohol were not considered factors in this motorcycle crash.
Statistics from the NHTSA show that wearing helmets in 2007 alone saved almost 1,785 motorcyclists lives.
