A 29-year-old suspected drunk driver was driving recklessly when he crashed into three cars before being taken into custody by state troopers late Friday.

The drunk driver was headed north on Interstate 5 when he collided with another car near the West Seattle Bridge exit, said State Patrol spokesperson Christina Martin. However, the driver did not stop, continued north and struck two more cars near NE 50th.

The suspect lost a tire upon impact with the second car, but continued driving on the tire rim.

The driver then exited from the northbound lanes and got onto the southbound lanes of I-5.

Troopers finally were able to catch up to him near the Lakeview Blvd. exit. The 29-year-old driver had several prior DUI convictions, stated the troopers.
