Seattle-area Sees Three Pedestrian Fatalities in Two Hours
Three
pedestrians were killed in separate traffic accidents throughout the Puget Sound region Saturday night, one of which involved a hit-and-run driver.
The first incident involved a 50-year-old man who was hit by a van at Alaskan Way and Wall Street at approximately 9 p.m. Medical personnel reportedly worked at the scene to revive the man, who was transported to Harborview Medical Center and pronounced dead at the scene.
The second incident involved a pedestrian in his 30s who was hit by a vehicle near the I-5 off-ramp at 164
th Street in Mill Creek. According to police, the man was struck at approximately 9 p.m. by a vehicle that proceeded to flee the scene of the collision. The Snohomish County Sherriff’s office is reportedly investigating the hit-and-run.
The third accident involved
a man who was struck by several vehicles while walking in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Everett. Police are unaware why the man was walking on the freeway, and no charges are expected to be filed in the incident.
