Fourth of July is a holiday that ranks very high for drunken driving crashes and DUI’s. Even if you are
sober and okay to drive, are the roads safe to be on?
Unfortunately, they are not. Just because you are being a responsible driver, does not mean that other people on the road are making good decisions. Majority of them have probably had a few cocktails at that Fourth of July barbeque.
It is important that if you see someone
driving erratically that you do something about it. There are several lives that could have been saved if a witness called the police immediately when they saw them driving recklessly.
Do the right thing:
• Dial the local highway patrol or police department
• Get the license plate number of the car
• Let the authorities know that you suspect a drunk driver
• Give your location
Everyone has a cell phone nowadays, which makes it more convenient and easy to
report a drunk driver. A few minutes of your time, could save lives.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) encourages you to be aware of your children's plans for the holiday weekend and prevent them from being on the roadways.
