Location: Custer, Whatcom County, Washington
Type: Semi-truck collision
Outcome: None injured

Thursday morning, a rolled semi truck blocked the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Custer.

The driver, 42-year-old Juan C. De La Cruz of Benton City, was driving on I-5 around 2:20 a.m. when he veered off the freeway and overturned his semi truck and trailer. De La Cruz was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was uninjured.

The truck and trailer were totaled and the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 were closed for hours while crews tried to clear the wreckage.

Drugs and/or alcohol were not a factor in the cause of the crash but De La Cruz may have been too tired to drive at the time of the collision.
