A 36-year-old woman from Bellingham was injured when a dump truck’s load of pea gravel was unsecured and scattered on the roadway. She was traveling northbound on Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle where she was transported to a hospital from injuries in the
roadway debris accident.
The State Patrol reported that the truck lost a part of its load when it passed under the Washington State Convention and Trade center early afternoon. The loose gravel shattered the front right passenger window of a pickup truck, in which the woman was a passenger in the vehicle.
Reports say glass from the windshield was lodged in the women’s eye. The driver of the pickup was not
injured from the roadway debris.
Due to the roadway debris accident, two lanes of I-5 were closed for 20 minutes.
